Winter Update February 25, 2010
LIVE BAIT? This year we will be offering a variety of minnows as we have added 3 new tanks to house them.
There is still winter in the Britt area and we are taking full advantage of it by snowmobiling almost every day. The river is completely frozen over. There have been alot of people in to buy bait for fishing on the river and they all agree fishing has been good. Unfortunately all good things come to an end and winter fishing season for pike and walleye in Zone 14 closes at the end of February. Inland lakes and other areas are open longer so be sure to check the MNR Website for individual area closings. The link to the MNR is available on our website under"ACTIVITIES" - "FISHING".
As of July 1, 2010 the new HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) will take affect. This will mean that everything after that date will be taxed at 13%. On cottages you now pay 5% GST and 5% PST and camping is taxed at 5% GST only. We are looking into whether or not the HST is to be applied, if you book prior to July 1st and pay the deposit or any part of the total charge. When clarified we will post it here so check back often.

Snowmobiling
As the snow gets deeper River Haven has made arrangements with Spring Water Ranch to develop over 100 miles of trails on their 1000 acres. This is exclusive to River Haven customers who will enjoy snowmobiling in the the pristine wilderness.
Call or check back regularily for updates on snow and trail availability in the area.
Horseback Riding
River Haven Resort has partnered with Spring Water Ranch to provide horseback riding for our guests. Spring Water is just 2kms from River Haven and offers 1000 acres of riding trails.
We now have package deals which include cottage accommodations, board (indoor stall, hay and water), and unlimited trail access from $200.00 for 2 people and 2 horses for 1 night. Call to inquire about longer stays.
RV and Tenting is also available.
Trail riding is available for beginners who have never been on a horse to advanced riders.

Muskies Canada members are welcome to launch and park at River Haven. Muskies Canada members also recieve 15% off cottages and camping.
