Winter Update February 2, 2010
We have had some snow, but could use some more. The thaw we had was short lived and the temperature dropped again so the river is still frozen and now we spend most of the day out snowmobiling. All the snowmobile clubs are working hard to groom the trails to get them opened up and if you have never experienced snowmobiling around this area it is something you should put on your "To Do" list.
One last word, Britt is celebrating it's Winter Carnival next week.
You may have noticed that we now have a camera installled giving you a picture (upper left on this page) of the river in front of River Haven. This picture is updated every minute.
Snowmobile Operators Course
To drive a snowmobile on any OFSC trail you must have a valid driver's license or Snowmobile Operators Permit. If you are 12 years old or older and do not have a valid drivers license. OFSC and Ministry of Transportaion offers courses for the Snowmobile Operators Permit and the course is available River Haven. When course dates are finalized we will post them here or call for details.
With the economy and such picking up River Haven is seeing an increase of early cottage bookings for the 2010 summer, so if you are planning a vacation here book early.
Snowmobiling
No trail permit? Not to worry!!
As the snow gets deeper River Haven has made arrangements with Spring Water Ranch to develop over 100 miles of trails on their 1000 acres. This is exclusive to River Haven customers who will enjoy snowmobiling in the the pristine wilderness.
Call or check back regularily for updates on snow and trail availability in the area.
Horseback Riding
River Haven Resort has partnered with Spring Water Ranch to provide horseback riding for our guests. Spring Water is just 5 minutes from River Haven and offers 1000 acres of riding trails.
We now have package deals which include cottage accomodations, board (indoor stall, hay and water), and unlimited trail access from $200.00 for 2 people and 2 horses for 1 night. Call to inquire about longer stays.
RV and Tenting is also available.
Trail riding is available for beginners who have never been on a horse to advanced riders.

Muskies Canada members are welcome to launch and park at River Haven. Muskies Canada members also recieve 15% off cottages and camping.
